What is a “host town”?　ホストタウンとは？

　Host towns are a nationally-instituted designation given to cities who serve as the “base” for pre-training camps for countries and their athletes who will participate in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. In addition to sports, host towns aim to promote long-lasting cultural exchange between their municipality and their guest country that will extend beyond just the summer of 2020.

　Matsudo City is registered as the host town for two countries: the “Dominican Republic” and “Romania.” Together, they have been deepening their international relationships through the exchange of sports, culture, and agriculture.　

2020年東京オリンピック・パラリンピック競技大会に向けて、事前キャンプの誘致等を通じて、大会参加国と経済的・文化的交流を図ることを目的とした国の制度です。
松戸市は「ドミニカ共和国」と「ルーマニア」のホストタウンとして登録されており、各国とスポーツや文化、農業を通じた交流を深めています。
