Here comes Ha! May 2020 Issue

Hey Ha, what do you think about this? What do people in Vietnam do in this or that situation? Ever since I started working here, I have heard many questions like this. At first I came across these questions in simple conversations with my coworkers, but later on I found myself expressing my thoughts in training seminars and meetings aimed at city workers.

Recently, I’ve even made a speech titled “Matsudo Through My Eyes” for members of a citizens group in Koganehara. It was a valuable opportunity for me to better understand and discuss my own culture and home country’s history with Matsudo citizens, heart-to-heart. 国際交流員（CIR）がゆく！

「ハーさん、これについてどう思いますか？」「ベトナムではみんなどうしますか？」CIRとして働き始めてからこうした質問をよくされるようになりました。最初は、同僚とのちょっとした会話だと思っていましたが、職員向けの研修や会議などで自分の考えを丁寧に伝えるようになっていることに気づきました。

先日、小金原の市民の方の前で「私から見た松戸」について発表をさせていただきました。外国籍市民の観点から自分の意見を述べることは、私にとって母国の文化や歴史を改めて理解する貴重な機会となり、また、市民の方と率直に話をするきっかけにもなりました。もし、皆さんが私たちの母国の文化、教育、歴史、あるいはCIRの生活や仕事での経験など、国際交流や異文化理解に興味があれば、喜んでお手伝いしたいです。
